Postholders will enhance their research abilities by tackling a research question in a project that must be completed during the secondment. They can also identify Sexual Health research questions or formulate them as part of their college program.
MyHealthnet requires Researchers (R) to Support MyHealthnet's Online Sexual Health Services and Transformation Programs.
Aims: To inform and develop research infrastructure and evidence for new approaches to service.
R. develops proposals using their research skills to inform and influence health outcomes by working on research projects which address the particular health needs of our local population.
All R. are supported and expected to have a link to academic staff at local colleges and universities with full access to library facilities. R., gains funding following successful parts 1 & 2 of their research and other support through a training programme to suit their needs. Non-university graduates / have basic research knowledge required.
R. are encouraged to seek external funding independently in support of their higher degrees to develop PhD proposals and to develop internal research grant applications as needed in collaboration with the MyHealthnet research team.
The first round of the research project is for 3 to 12 months, with suitable candidates on an integrated research training programme preferably in the broad area of Accessing Sexual Health Services / Sex and People trafficking / Remote Sexual Health Services / Covid-19 and Youth Sexual Health.
Role Summary
R., will develop skills by addressing a research question in a project to be completed during the secondment period. R., will identify their research questions or develop them within the programme. Projects connected with SRH, are broadly interpreted to include research on a range of related topics and conditions, and around the monitoring, and management of risk factors and behaviours. Projects unrelated to SRH may be considered. A quantitative/qualitative methodological approach, projects might include:
R - will get assistance on a range of projects within MyHealthnet. For an intro., develop a Tik-Tok, WhatsApp and online-based study accessible to service users. Projects will be posted on MHN platforms.
R - with a degree, or equivalent experience, R. Ambassadors and provide leadership.
