Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Who's up for connecting research to thoughtful write-ups that seek to make the world a more tolerant place with better cultural integration?

We are looking for a skilled and analytical researcher who helps us to do exactly that!

What will you be doing?

Are you a curious soul with a passion for making a difference? Are you interested in supporting the production of compelling materials that can help migrant communities thrive? If so, we're looking for you! Your skills and enthusiasm are crucial in turning our vision into reality.

We're looking for a researcher with a heart for digital projects and a keen interest in researching that can shift the public understanding of migration and support migrants in their new communities.

As a member of our team, you'll play a key role in gathering the knowledge and information we need to advance our cause. Your mission? To be the driving force behind data collection and information collation that will propel our organisation onto social media platforms with engaging stories and content. You'll work closely with our writers and content creators, ensuring they have everything they need to craft narratives that bridge gaps and celebrate our diverse, multicultural spirit.

Ours is an eclectic international team where your ideas and visions get the space to live. Picture a place buzzing with diverse talents, backgrounds, and a united purpose to create positive change. Sounds exciting, right?

But that's not all. We're genuinely interested in your perspectives on migration and are all ears for your innovative ideas on how to broaden our impact. Joining the Human-Bridge family means you're much more than just a team member—you're a vital contributor to our community conversations. Your insights will directly influence our strategies and actions.

So, if you have a nose for where the juicy details are, an intuition on where to look for answers, and you want to be the building blocks for meaningful content production and if our mission ignites a fire in your soul, come join us! Let's illuminate the journey ahead, together.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate should have:

  • a passion for social causes.
  • Interest in the contemporary issues facing migrants in the UK, regionally and globally
  • experience or interest in research work
  • at least 3 years’ experience in research design and methodology
  • desk research, policy research, archival research
  • literature reviews
  • 121 interviewing, focus groups
  • quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • an ability to summarise reports, documents and articles for writing and content creation
  • an ear for trending topics that catch the headlines and/or are of public interest.
  • an understanding of the basics of how to write proposals, presentations, reports and long and short-format articles/blog posts to a standard appropriate for external audiences
  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

What difference will you make?

Ours is an organisation that spotlights the dignity, care, and endless opportunities for migrants, sparking meaningful conversations and fuelling change. Your critical analysis will allow us to send ripples of positive change across the globe!

This role isn't just about lending your skills; it's about joining a mission that nurtures understanding, solidarity, and transformation at both the local and international levels. Your contributions will not only shape our projects but also profoundly impact the communities we serve, propelling a movement that champions the well-being and empowerment of migrants everywhere.

Before you apply

To apply for this role, please submit your application to REACH. We'd love to see your personal statement (1-2 pages will do) where you explain why you want to join Human-Bridge and how you envision contributing to our mission as part of the team.
