Visitors from Fifth Day

Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We need someone to explore different approaches to child sponsorship so that we can shape our programming going forward.

What will you be doing?

We are a small charity working with street connected children in Uganda. We work with these children to get them back into education and historically we have funded this largely through individual child sponsorship. We want to move away from this model but to do this we want to better understand how other organisations do this successfully.

Do, for example, other charities offer sponsorship without connection to an individual child? If so, how do they manage to maintain a strong connection with their supporter base with limited drop-offs.

Or do other organisations provide models such as group sponsorship, benefitting a particular community or sector?

This project will involve an initial chat with our team then time spent searching the web to explore other organisations' approaches. Your findings will need to be put together in a document that can be shared with our Board of Trustees, ideally with your own thoughts/insight that you have gained while looking into this. The project can be done fully remotely at times to suit you but with our team on hand for any queries you may have.

What are we looking for?

Previous market research / analysis experience is essential.

It would be great if you have a basic understanding of child sponsorship but if not don't worry, it can be taught!

What difference will you make?

Your research and analysis will help shape our future programming. With this, you will be directly impacting the lives of children who have been on the streets of Uganda get back into education.

Before you apply

Please provide a few lines about why you would like to support S.A.L.V.E. and any previous market research you have done.
