Ignite Hubs is a new charitable organisation that is run and led by volunteers. We are looking to pioneer innovative and exciting ways for children and young people to learn.

What will you be doing?

Our vision is to nurture and enrich young minds to explore, grow and learn. We seek to equip each child or young person with the tools and skills to be successful in school and life.

We aim to:

  • Create the best learning environment for children and young people from all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Value, support and develop our volunteers and help them realise their potential and aspirations.
  • Build a better community and bring people together.

We plan to offer classes, workshops and events to children and young people on a wide variety of subjects such as coding, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), enterprise, creativity and innovation and health & wellbeing.

We are based at Peckham Library, London SE15.

What are we looking for?

Are you passionate about improving the life chances and social mobility of children and young people, particularly girls, those from a disadvantaged or vulnerable background and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities? We are looking for an experienced Research & Innovation Volunteer to research on issues affecting children and young people and potential solutions that will guide and influence our long-term strategy. You will need to be:

  • Proactive and creative, coming up with your own research topics.
  • Engage with children and young people in your research, where possible.

This is a great opportunity to part of an exciting new organisation. There will be plenty of opportunities to shape and grow the role as well as gain skills in other areas.

What difference will you make?

Enable children and young people from all backgrounds to grow, develop and progress in life.

What's in it for the volunteer?

Opportunity to play a key role in an organisation and deliver work that will have a real impact on children and young people. Learn new skills and be part of a friendly team who are passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.
