What will you be doing?

As a Relevant Persons Representative (RPR) Volunteer you will be joining a service that works in Herefordshire and/or Worcestershire areas that ‘looks out’ for an older or disabled person living in a Residential and Nursing care home, making sure they are getting the right care and support and are being treated fairly. This role provides support for people in with a DOLS in place. A DOLS is a deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding meaning the person you support is unable to leave of their own free will. A DOLS is put in place to protect individuals from harm or abuse.

We are seeking people who are friendly and approachable. You also need to be confident to ask care home staff questions about the person you are supporting and feel able to query and raise any concerns you may have with the home. You will have, or be willing to learn, basic computer literacy skills in order to log your contact / work on our database system.

What are we looking for?

You will demonstrate over 3 years of experience in working with organisations to follow regulatory requirements and representing your own views or those of others.
