A vital and interesting role to create and develop relationships with local agencies who may be able to refer potential readers  , giving them the  life-changing chance to learn to read , one to one for free .

What will you be doing?

We need 2 Referral Networkers, one for Torbay and the other for Teignbridge,  to reach out to adults who struggle with reading, spreading the word that we can help them. Because of the stigma and embarrassment people are reluctant to come forward and get started, but we have many success stories so are able to help them .Would you like to join us ,we are  a small friendly and passionate group of volunteers ?

READ EASY provides

  • Confidential, 1-1 tuition
  • Trained Reading Coaches
  • Half hour sessions twice a week
  • Approved local venues
  • Friendly, flexible and free
  • Readers are referred by partners such as JobCentre Plus, Children’s Centres, CAB…or themselves

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with previous experience in public relations , communications and organisational skills to encourage referrals of  people struggling with reading ,  ( by contacting Agencies , NHS links,  Schools , Media , family or themselves)

An enthusiastic willingness to join our small friendly Management Team,  that supports the Coordinators, Reading Coaches, and others in the Team would be very welcome.

What difference will you make?

In a country where more than 7% of all working age adults can barely read or can’t read at all, we need your help to change people’s lives. Help us to make a difference !

The recent Jay Blades BBC documentary has highlighted the work, and successes of Read Easy.
