2.4 million adults in England alone can barely read or can’t read at all. We need your help to change people’s lives.
We offer free, one-to-one coaching to adults who want to learn to read.
Spreading the word is key to your local community understanding what your local Read Easy group does and how people can get the reading support they need or volunteer to help.
Responsibilities
Resources, guidance and support
You will be provided with the Management Team Handbook, policies, training/induction and guidance specifically needed for this role, including access to support from a Read Easy UK Regional Adviser, via your Team Leader. You will also be invited to Read Easy UK’s regional forums and annual conference which give volunteers an opportunity for networking with those from other groups.
Personal qualities and experience
Our vision is for all adults in the UK to have the literacy skills they need to fulfil their potential and live life to the full.
You’ll be joining over 1,400 volunteers across the country. Because of our dedicated volunteers, Read Easy groups deliver high-quality coaching services to local adults who want to improve their reading skills. That’s not all – learning to read is just the start. Our volunteers give someone a skill that allows them to fulfil their goals and live everyday life more easily. It’s life-changing and you can be part of this!
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Read Easy UK application form.
