The role of the Publicity Officer is to promote Shropshire Parks and Gardens Trust through various channels, such as the press, website, and social media with the overall aim of increasing membership.

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities include: 

Building relationships

Contacting and developing relationships with media outlets, and liaising with the committee on media opportunities 

Writing and distributing content

Writing press releases, articles, and social media posts to promote the Trust 

Planning and organizing

Working with Events Organiser and other members of the committee to plan publicity campaigns and events, and organize promotional events 

Communicating

Acting as the primary point of contact for media, and communicating with the committee and members 

Tracking coverage

Keeping a record of media coverage, including press cuttings, radio, and TV coverage.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others 
  • An interest in garden history would be useful
