What will you be doing?

Project Support Volunteer – Smart Works Bristol

Smart Works Bristol is a charity that supports women into employment by providing free interview clothing, one-to-one coaching, and career support. We’re setting up a brand new centre in the heart of Bristol, and it’s an exciting time to get involved and help build something special from the ground up.

We’re looking for a Project Support Volunteer to join our small, passionate team and be part of this growing community.

The role:

  • We’re looking for someone who can offer around 3 hours a week (or more)
  • The role is mainly remote, with opportunities to support at occasional events if you’d like
  • You’ll work closely with the Head of Smart Works Bristol on a range of projects
  • There will be weekly catch-ups to check in and plan tasks

Tasks can be shaped around your skills and interests – examples include:

  • Helping with volunteer recruitment and onboarding
  • Researching and drafting content for funding applications
  • Creating visual content, reports or presentations
  • Sourcing quotes and helping with budgeting
  • Reviewing and improving internal processes

If you'd like to support women into employment and play a part in creating a new Smart Works centre, we'd love to hear from you!

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who has experience delivering projects and is confident working independently. Right now, we have lots of areas where support is needed, so if you have a particular area of expertise – whether it’s fundraising, operations, or something else – we’d love to hear from you.

You might be great at writing, organising, designing, or just getting things done – we welcome creativity, fresh ideas, and a proactive attitude. Fundraising experience would be a real bonus, as would confidence with IT and digital tools (e.g. Google Drive, Canva, Excel).

Most of all, we’re looking for someone who’s excited to get stuck in, be part of our journey, and help us make a difference for women in Bristol.

What difference will you make?

As a Project Support Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in helping to build Smart Works Bristol from the ground up. Your work will directly contribute to creating a supportive, empowering space for women across the region who are facing barriers to employment. Whether you're helping us recruit volunteers, secure funding, or streamline our processes, your input will enable us to reach more women, deliver high-quality services, and grow a sustainable, impactful centre. You’ll be part of a small team making a big difference – helping women feel confident, prepared, and ready to transform their lives through work.
