We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Volunteer Policy Researcher to support our mission of enhancing educational inclusion in Tanzania and the UK. 

What will you be doing?

The role involves conducting thorough research to align our initiatives with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), African Union Agenda 2063, Tanzania's education policies, and the UK's international development strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive research on education policies in Tanzania and the UK.
  • Analyse the alignment of our projects with UN SDGs, African Union goals, and government policies.
  • Identify key indicators and targets relevant to our work.

2. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed reports and policy briefs to inform program strategies and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop documents linking our initiatives to international and national educational frameworks.

What are we looking for?

Key Competencies

  • Research Skills: Strong ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, with a focus on policy analysis.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capability to interpret complex policy documents and data, and synthesize findings clearly.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information concisely and persuasively.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding of and respect for diverse cultural contexts, particularly in Tanzania and the UK.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A background in education, public policy, international development, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in policy research or a similar role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the UN SDGs, African Union Agenda 2063, and relevant national policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other research tools.
