A community-driven organisation empowering women of colour! We're seeking a skilled Photographer/Videographer to capture impactful moments at our workshops, events, and community activities. Help us showcase our mission and inspire others.

What will you be doing?

Pretty Powerful is on a mission to create a supportive, empowering network for women of colour. Through workshops, support groups, and social events, we address key issues in employment, healthcare, mental health, and personal growth. We're looking for a creative and dedicated Photographer/Videographer to help bring our story to life.

What will you do?

  • Event Coverage: Capture photos and video footage at Pretty Powerful’s workshops, brunches, panel discussions, and other events.
  • Create Visual Stories: Produce high-quality, engaging visuals that reflect the heart of our mission, empowering women of colour to overcome barriers and celebrate their achievements.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with our event organisers, content creators, and social media team to understand key themes, goals, and how best to visually represent them.

Key Deliverables:

  • Photo & Video Assets: High-quality, edited photos and video footage from events.
  • Highlight Reels: Short video segments that can be shared on social media, summarising key moments and impacts from events.
  • Event Recaps: A visual storytelling format for each event, allowing the community to reflect on and share their experiences.

Who will you work with? You’ll work directly with Pretty Powerful’s content creation and social media teams, along with event organisers who will brief you on each event's theme and goals. We’re looking for someone flexible and creative, open to collaborating with our team to bring fresh ideas and insights into visual storytelling.

Flexibility of the Role:This role is adaptable; we welcome your creative ideas on how best to capture the essence of our events. Whether it’s experimenting with new photography styles, or producing unique video edits, we’re open to your expertise in capturing and amplifying our mission.

What are we looking for?

  • Photography and videography experience, particularly for events and storytelling.
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Capcut, Final Cut, Lightroom).
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to capture candid moments that reflect authenticity and emotion.

What difference will you make?

Your work will play a vital role in telling Pretty Powerful’s story, visually connecting audiences to the experiences, support, and community we provide to women of colour. By helping us share these empowering stories, you’ll amplify our reach and inspire others to join our cause.

With your help, we’ll be able to:

  • Showcase our workshops, support groups, and events in a way that resonates deeply with participants and supporters alike.
  • Attract new members, funders, and community allies, strengthening our ability to offer meaningful support to women facing challenges in employment, healthcare, and personal empowerment.
