- Feminist event in Parliament with high profile MPs

What will you be doing?

This high-profile feminist event, hosted in Parliament, will bring together women MPs, advocates, and public figures to celebrate and promote women’s political leadership. The event supports The Fawcett Society’s mission to advance gender equality in political life.

Key Objectives

  • Capture the energy and importance of the event through high-quality, editorial-style photographs.
  • Document key moments, including speeches, networking, and audience engagement.
  • Capture posed images of women MPs if time allows with Fawcett staff.
  • Ensure we have powerful imagery for use in media, social campaigns, and post-event reports.

Required Shots

  • Wide shots of the venue showing audience and ambience.
  • Candid and posed shots of speakers, panelists, and attendees.
  • Key speakers at the podium or during panel discussions.
  • Group shots of MPs and VIPs (with Fawcett backdrop if available).
  • Interaction between guests (inclusive representation is key).
  • Branded materials, signage, and any Fawcett collateral present at the event.

Deliverables

  • A selection of edited, high-resolution images (minimum 40–50).
  • Delivered within 48 hours of the event, with a few select images available same-day for social media.
  • Images should be royalty-free for use across The Fawcett Society’s digital and print platforms, with appropriate photographer credit.

What are we looking for?

  • Event Photography Experience:Proven ability to capture live events, especially in fast-paced or formal settings. Experience photographing political, advocacy, or public sector events is a strong advantage.
  • Discretion and Professionalism:Must be confident working in high-profile environments such as Parliament, with the ability to be unobtrusive, respectful, and responsive to the sensitivities of political spaces.
  • Strong Portfolio with People-Focused Imagery:Demonstrated talent in capturing people — both candid and posed — in ways that convey emotion, connection, and professionalism.
  • Eye for Editorial and Social Media Use:Understands how to frame shots that work well across platforms (media, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, reports) and provide content that supports narrative storytelling.
  • Commitment to Inclusion:A strong awareness of the importance of representing diversity and inclusivity in imagery — ensuring all subjects are captured with respect and care.
  • Reliability and Responsiveness:Able to meet deadlines, communicate clearly before and during the event, and deliver a polished, timely set of images.
  • Editing and Post-Production:Confident in delivering high-quality, professionally edited images in both colour and black & white (if requested), with an eye for consistent visual tone.
  • Feminist and Equality-Aligned Values (Desirable):A genuine interest in or alignment with feminist causes and social justice values is a bonus, particularly for understanding the tone and importance of the event.

What difference will you make?

  • High-Profile Parliamentary Access:This event is taking place within the Houses of Parliament — a rare and prestigious location for photography, particularly for political and editorial portfolios.
  • Prominent Subjects and Media Relevance:The event features well-known MPs, public figures, and advocates, offering compelling content for your portfolio that speaks to timely political and social issues.
  • Visibility and Acknowledgment:Your photography will be credited and featured across The Fawcett Society’s platforms, which include national media coverage, social media channels, newsletters, and reports shared with partners in politics, media, and civil society.
  • Alignment with Feminist Values:Working with The Fawcett Society provides the opportunity to align with and support a cause that champions gender equality and representation in politics.
  • Future Opportunities:We frequently work with photographers for press, campaign, and event needs — and are always looking to build ongoing relationships with professionals we trust.
