PetRehomer (part of Charity Buddy) is a caring pet rehoming charity that offers a new way for people to safely rehome pets that they are no longer able to care for. Although we are new, we are growing quickly!
Do you LOVE PETS? Can you give 5+ hours a week to help pets to find new homes in the UK? Do you have at least 3 years solid senior-level admin and customer service/support experience? We have also found that people with Recruitment experience are also particularly well-suited to the roles.
PetRehomer is seeking experienced customer focussed professionals who want to help people as much as pets. Working in a small and passionate team, you’ll be the first point of support to provide help and advice with owner support, assisted rehoming and pet adoption queries and problem solving at PetRehomer.
You’ll thrive in this volunteer role if you’re organised, enthusiastic about learning, excellent with communication, digitally savvy, enjoy working in a team and helping others, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves for any tasks as needed - big or small - to help people and pets in need.
No day is ever the same but will consist of significant customer support, creative thinking, teamwork and collaboration. As part of a small team in a registered charity designed to help people and pets, your tasks will vary from helping people with pet listings, screening adopters, organising home checks internally and via our partners, and, on occasions, personally conducting online home checks.
If volunteering for PetRehomer, and this role, sounds really exciting, and you’re the type of person that's passionate about making a difference through social impact and innovation, then you should apply!
We’re seeking animal-loving people with the following skills to join us as our newest team members in these customer-focused volunteer roles:
As you will be managing applications from potential adopters, arranging transport, checking details, arranging home checks and handling email enquiries you will need to be an experienced customer-facing consultant with at least 3-5 years of fairly complicated administrative and coordination experience.
You will also be managing some of the technical aspects, such as uploading/editing available pets within our platform, changing the status of pets on the website, and promoting them through social media. You can also help to update our socials; sharing posts to relevant Facebook groups along with the other volunteers. And you'll also get to undertake the rewarding part of the job ...sharing the good news for successful applicants, but also being sensitive when updating the unsuccessful applicants.
About you:
About our organisation
PetRehomer is a national animal welfare charity (part of Charity Buddy reg no 1189284) with a vision of a future where every pet is safe, respected and loved, and where we can end pet homelessness through reducing unwanted litters and responsible rehoming.
High quality customer service and administration for this organisation is the key to its success! We have already successfully rehomed many hundreds of the UK's pets through our new and innovative service, helping the public to rehome pets directly from one home to another. We offer a charitable and safe alternative to unregulated pet selling platforms such as Gumtree, Preloved etc.
If you are interested in joining our busy, fun and highly motivated team we would love to hear from you. We will need you to register on our own volunteer database and we will provide further details upon application.
