NiB is a volunteer lead charity and we are looking for a People Team Lead.

What will you be doing?

The People Team Lead will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for our volunteers ( and members. This position involves leading the People Team, developing and implementing HR strategies, overseeing recruitment and onboarding and ensuring that our volunteers are engaged, motivated, and supported.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in HR or people management roles.  
  • Experience building relationships with key stakeholders.  
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteers 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible.  
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Good understanding of neurodiversity and its impact on the workplace 
  • Confident and competent with IT systems, e.g. Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Bookings. 
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Experience working in a volunteer-led organization is a plus. 

What difference will you make?

  • Lead and manage the People Team, providing guidance and support to team members. 
  • Support development and implementation HR strategies and initiatives aligned with NiB's mission and goals  
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment (inc interviewing), onboarding (inc induction for People team), and retention processes. 
  • Attend regular Senior Leadership Team (SLT) & All Hands meeting and contribute to a decision-making process 
  • Provide support and resources to volunteers, ensuring their well-being and engagement. 
  • Collaborate with other SL to ensure effective communication and coordination of volunteer related projects 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture within the organization. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies and practices  
  • Address and resolve any volunteer-related issues or conflicts (in partnership with SLT & Trustees) 
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
