Bright Futures UK seeks volunteers to tutor young people with serious mental or physical illnesses. Many are isolated and have missed significant schooling. We need kind, experienced educators to provide online tutoring support.

What will you be doing?

Bright Futures UK works with young people suffering from long-term, serious mental or physical illnesses. We are looking for warm, energetic individuals to provide educational support to these young people by offering experienced educator volunteers to tutor on a 1:1 basis online, creating a safe and engaging space for learning, fun, and self-expression.

Many of our young people are incredibly isolated and have missed significant amounts of school. They need assistance to catch up on their missed learning. Our team and the young people we serve would immensely appreciate your support.

This is a volunteer role for educators interested in working with vulnerable youth facing serious health challenges, whether mental or physical. We need someone who is understanding, kind, and friendly—someone who can positively engage with young people and help them not feel defined by their illness. Your involvement can make a significant difference in their lives.

  • Kindness, understanding, and patience
  • Ability to engage positively and energetically with youth
  • Experience with mental or physical health challenges (beneficial)
  • Capability to create a safe, supportive learning environment
  • Commitment to fostering academic growth and emotional well-being

What difference will you make?

Volunteers at Bright Futures UK would significantly impact young people with serious illnesses by providing personalized educational support, helping them catch up on missed schooling, and creating a safe, engaging learning environment. This support would reduce isolation, boost confidence, and promote positive self-expression, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being and academic progress.
