Citizens Advice Teignbridge is an independent local charity offering social welfare advice across Teignbridge and Devon.  We are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of those in our community.

What will you be doing?

Being a trustee is a hugely important role in Citizens Advice Teignbridge and many trustees find it really rewarding being able to give back to the community, as well as a great way of putting existing skills to use and a fantastic opportunity to learn new things from others.

As a trustee you’ll have the chance to help lead an organisation that’s making a real difference to clients and local communities. We are a registered charity with its own board of trustees who are responsible for deciding how Citizens Advice Teignbridge is run, including deciding how resources are used, making sure the charity is fulfilling its purpose and has all the relevant policies and procedures in place.

As a trustee, you’ll receive an induction to the service and the role so that you know what’s expected and how to carry out your role.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need specific qualifications or experience to be a trustee. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and experience who are passionate about the Citizens Advice service. Citizens Advice Teignbridge Trustee board is particularly keen to hear from people who have business, legal, income generation, charity governance or advice sector experience. But all types of experience are valuable.  As a trustee you’ll need to have good judgment and be able to work in a team.

What difference will you make?

Joining our Board of Trustees is a rewarding experience that allows you to:

  • Make a Difference: Play a crucial role in shaping the future of our charity and the services we provide to the community.
  • Develop Skills: Enhance your leadership, governance, and strategic thinking skills in a supportive environment.
  • Network: Connect with like-minded individuals and professionals who are equally passionate about social welfare.
