Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Can you help bring St. Paul's Rusthall into a 21st Century digital world?

What will you be doing?

St. Paul's Church, Rusthall is celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2025. Throughout the year we have a number of events taking place as part of those celebrations and we would like to radically improve our presence in the digital world so that we can maximise the opportunities arising from our events.

We have just started (in the last 3 months) using Canva as a design platform which means our promotional material has exponentially increased. For many social media platforms such as twitter, facebook, instagram or snapchat we have zero profile. It may be that for some of these platforms the value added is not there, but we need someone with experience and expertise to show us where it makes sense for us to focus our attention.

The volunteer will have a largely clean slate on which they will be free to work with the Trustees in designing the most effective media and social media strategy that best meets our objectives.

Experience of working in the charity sector would be useful but is by no means a must.

What are we looking for?

Knowledge of Canva would be a big advantage. Ability to design promotional material supporting our 175th Anniversary events. Trustees are happy to share with volunteers who apply examples of our current promotional material.

Expertise in social media platforms and in particular the extent to which those platforms can be best used for charities such as ourself.

Experience in working or volunteering with charities such as ourself would be beneficial but not essential.

A flexible and open minded approach as things always change!

What difference will you make?

Impact will be significant. The volunteer will be able to work with the trustees in designing the overall media and social media strategy and establishing the matrix by which its success can be assessed. The volunteer will be able to work from a clean slate, meaning it will be easy to attribute and calculate the degree with which the changes implemented have led to the desired result.

The trustees are eager to talk with anyone who is interested in such an opportunity and have an open mind as to what the final strategy looks like and on which media platforms the charity engages with.
