What will you be doing? We are looking for board trustees with a wide range of skills, knowledge and a real passion and belief in the value and dignity of all women. All trustees are responsible for maintaining an overview of the charity's activities, ensuring the charity remains sustainable and that it uses its resources effectively to achieve the organisations aims. They also need to ensure the charity maintains the highest level of financial governance and reporting.

Role responsibilities:

• KairosWWT affairs are conducted in accordance with generally accepted codes of performance and propriety.
• KairosWWT follows the recommendations of the Charity Commission.
• Promote effective communication between the Board of Trustees and Director.
• KairosWWT provides role profiles and competency frameworks to Trustees.
• Board agrees all trustee roles.
• Board agrees the role of Director and establishing a constructive working relationship with and providing support for the Director.
• Board as a whole act in partnership with the employees.

• The Director is replaced in a timely and orderly fashion.
• Board receives professional advice where needed.
• Board delegates sufficient authority to Trustees, the Director and others to enable the business of KairosWWT to be carried on effectively between Board meetings and ensuring that the Board monitors the use of these delegated powers
• All Board Trustees are given the opportunity to express their views and that appropriate standards of behaviour are maintained in accordance with any available Code of Conduct.

• Board makes proper arrangements to appraise the performance of the Director.
• Board makes proper arrangements to determine the remuneration of the Director and other senior staff, such remuneration to be based on clear business reasons and to be in the best interests of KairosWWT and its service users.

• Board is given full information to assess new or amended contracts of employment for senior staff.
• Board makes proper and appropriate arrangements for its own appraisal, both as a Board and of individual Trustees including the Chair.
• Board makes proper and appropriate arrangements for implementing a succession plan for Trustees.
