CSSC is a Not For Profit Organisation that provides sport and leisure opportunities for Public Servants throughout the UK ranging from good club standard sport level, to theatre trips to family fun days.

What will you be doing?

The CSSC Board

The Board is responsible for the management of CSSC and meets 3 times a year in Central London. Much of the work of the Board is carried out through two main committees – the Resources Committee and the Sports and Leisure Committee, both chaired by Vice Chairmen.  The Chairman of the Appointments Committee is not a member of the Board but is expected to attend Board meetings from time to time. 


The Committee is responsible for:

  • Selecting and recommending to the Board for appointment persons to serve as Officers and appointed members of the Board and as members of the Appointments Committee.
  • Recommending to the Board reappointments of Officers and appointed members and members of the Appointments Committee.
  • Selecting and recommending to the Board for Appointment persons to fill casual vacancies amongst officers and Appointed members.
  • Overseeing the annual Board Elections process.

The Annual Appointments Committee Meeting is held in High Wycombe, with any interviews during the year held in London.  Throughout the year there will be occasional email correspondence to consider.

We are looking for someone with:

Leadership qualities and who has experience of:

  • Preferably, Volunteer Organisations and especially their management.
  • People Management and especially the making of senior appointments in any field.
  • Committee work and Chairing meetings.

This is a volunteer post for which there is no remuneration. Travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed.

The appointment is made by the Board on the recommendation of the Appointments Committee. Candidates will have an opportunity to have a discussion with the CEO before being interviewed informally by members of the Appointments Committee in London.
