We want to be able to communicate complex messages quickly and simply to a modern audience. Whether this uses animation, video, or other audio-visual media is not as important as getting the message across in a way that is easy to understand.

What will you be doing?

We  are engaged in networking and campaigning about today’s environmental issues

Our LitterNet project is a cross sector network set up to bring people together, change behaviour around litter and help cut the flow of single use plastic into the ocean.

We are looking for an experienced and imaginative digital media analyst to experiment using animation or a variety of media and test its effectiveness. We would like the volunteer to use their imagination, artistic and creative skills to come up with a compelling methodology we can apply to a variety of subjects and:

  • Think through our audiences’ information needs and how we can present that effectively
  • Prepare graphics and other media for our web site and also, where appropriate, sharing across channels

You will be working with one of our trustees who will provide any background material you will need.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer who:

  • Has a basic understanding of climate issues
  • Has experience of experimenting with a variety of online media
  • Has experience of preparing materials for web
  • Has experience of website builders, preferably Wix
  • Has experience of working within a brand identity and developing design based on existing materials.
  • Has the ability to quickly understand the needs of our team / organisation / users
  • Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and can work within these.

What difference will you make?

With your help will increase our value as an educational resource, as well as motivate our audience by giving them a better grasp of the issues.

What's in it for the volunteer?

This would give you the opportunity to experiment and stretch your skills in a real world setting. You would become part of our small, friendly team, using your time to make a real difference in difficult times and to contribute your ideas to help inform and educate the wider public.
