You will help us develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns, refine our brand positioning, and improve engagement with our target audiences.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a Marketing Professional Volunteer with extensive marketing experience to help enhance the visibility and impact of Connecting Stories. In this role, you will help us develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns, refine our brand positioning, and improve engagement with our target audiences.

You will be an integral part of our marketing efforts, bringing your expertise to guide both digital and traditional marketing strategies, with the aim of elevating our story, reaching new supporters, and advancing our mission.

What are we looking for?

Required Skills and Experience

We are looking for a volunteer with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Extensive Marketing Experience: 5+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong background in both digital and traditional marketing strategies. Experience with nonprofit marketing is a plus.
  • Campaign Management: Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, including content creation, paid media, email marketing, and social media management.
  • Content Creation: Strong writing and editing skills for a variety of content types, including social media posts, blogs, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
  • Social Media Expertise: Deep understanding of social media platforms, trends, and tools to grow engagement and track performance.
  • Branding: Ability to develop and maintain a consistent brand voice across multiple channels.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong experience with digital marketing tools (Google Analytics, social media insights, email campaign platforms, etc.) to track and report on campaign performance.
  • Project Management: Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering quality work.
  • Passion for Impact: A passion for social impact, storytelling, and using marketing to support a cause.

1. Amplifying Voices of Marginalised Communities

  • By crafting and executing strategic marketing campaigns, you will help raise awareness of the stories of marginalised groups and individuals who may not have a platform elsewhere. 

2. Expanding the Organisation's Reach and Influence

  • With your marketing expertise, you will play a key role in expanding the reach of Connecting Stories' programmes, events, and initiatives.

3. Supporting Community Engagement and Advocacy

  • You will help design and implement campaigns that will drive increased participation in Connecting Stories’ initiatives, whether through attending events, engaging with content online, or supporting fundraising campaigns.

4. Strengthening Brand and Messaging Consistency

  • You will ensure that Connecting Stories’ messaging is clear, consistent, and compelling across all channels. 

5. Building Partnerships for Long-Term Impact

  • You will help establish strategic partnerships that will create new opportunities for collaboration, resource-sharing, and funding. 

6. Contributing to Positive Social Change

  • Your work will not just promote a brand—it will promote a cause that challenges narratives, sparks conversations, and inspires action for a better future.

7. Enhancing Organisational Growth and Sustainability

  • Your support will increase the organisation’s capacity to engage in long-term, impactful work.
