We are looking for experienced facilitators to work with us to plan and manage an online event that will bring together a broad range of sectors from professional to community stakeholders, including young people.

What will you be doing?

Our charity is working to help bring about a step change in the battle against litter through our LitterNet project (use easteregg password)

Open Space (OS) is a highly participatory facilitation process that allows a group – of any size - to work together to create an agenda quickly. It allows everyone to take part in the sessions that interest them.

It was developed historically for face to face meetings, but it has been successfully adapted in current times for online zoom.

We are in the early stages of planning an Open Space workshop for later in the year. Although we have experience of using this physically, we now need help to develop a series of online events.

We would like the facilitators to work together to:

  • Plan a trial Open Space event to allow participants to set an agenda for further development of the LitterNet project.
  • Manage and facilitate the planned event
  • Use lessons learned from this event to set up a series of similar events

You will be working with one of our trustees who will provide any background material you will need as a starting point.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer who:

  • Has a basic understanding of climate issues
  • Has experience of planning events
  • Has experience of facilitating online events preferably Open Space

We would love a volunteer who can:

  • Help us clarify what our team needs
  • Review and agree priorities and deliverables (if necessary)
  • Identify the tools and practices that are right for our organisation
  • Follow up with any further questions or outcomes.
  • Has the ability to quickly understand the needs of our team / organisation / users
  • Is an imaginative and visually creative individual
  • Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
  • Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these.

What difference will you make?

With your help we will be able to engage communities across the sectors to work together and develop practical approaches to behaviour changes around litter. This will add to the effectiveness of our organisation, open up new ways of communicating and        add to the viability of the project

What's in it for the volunteer?

You would become part of our small, friendly team and have the opportunity to build your skills in running online events, using your time to make a real difference in difficult times and to contribute your ideas to help solve one of today’s pressing environmental challenges..
