To oversee the day to day running of the Library,  it's things and it's volunteers

What will you be doing?

We need help with the management and running of the library. We are a very small, entirely volunteer lead team and are struggling to keep on top of everything.

Responsibilities could include:

  • Coordinating our small pool of volunteers, ensuring they are trained in our systems, know what to do and that we have sufficient cover to keep the library open.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the things, many of these are donated and not always in the best of condition. You would not need to carry out the maintenance yourself but make sure that as many of the things as possible are available to our community.
  • Helping us to move the library forwards to a more sustainable business model

What are we looking for?

The volunteer must be passionate about our aims and share our vision. You must be organised and have a problem solving mindset. Experience in:

  • General / operations management
  • Office and administration management
  • Volunteer management

What difference will you make?

  • Your help and expertise will enable us to adapt and survive, to scope new possibilities, activities and ways of working.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach in the first instance. We will endeavour to call any applicants for an initial chat and then arrange a meeting (preferable face to face in the Library but could be online)

We believe that it is better to borrow than to buy. There are many useful items that people don't want to buy as they cost too much, take up too much space or are just very infrequently used....
