Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

Our Room supports men, trans & non-binary people who sex work. We are refreshing our board. We are looking for people with knowledge & experience of the Arts Sector, Finance, Marketing, Management.

What will you be doing?

Following a successful rebranding last year to reflect changes in our core demographic, (having previously been known as The Men’s Room) we are refreshing our Board. We are looking to appoint up to 4 new board members. We are particularly interested in hearing from:

  • People with lived experience of the issues our participants face
  • People from the LGBTQ+ community
  • People with experience of working in the Arts Sector
  • People with financial management qualifications and skills from the private/public/third sector
  • People with a background in Marketing & Communications
  • People with a professional background in homelessness, sexual health, mental health or addiction

Our Room has been through a period of growth in the last couple of years. The biggest challenges we face are the common challenges all small charities face; financial stability, risk management, recruitment and retention and reaching our communities. However, the biggest challenge we face is responding to the explosion in online sex work and the changing needs of male, trans and non-binary sex worker in a world where the majority of sex work is now mediated through social media apps etc.

We are looking to recruit trustees who are excited by our mission to be a creative community for male, trans and non-binary people who sex work.

What are we looking for?

We want to hear form anyone who has an interest in supporting male, trans and non-binary people who sex work. However we are particularly interested in recruiting board members with skills and backgrounds in financial management, marketing and communications, social media and digital and IT development.

What difference will you make?

As part of our board, you will support and shape our work and strategic direction, as well as help us achieve our purpose. This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for male, trans and non-binary people who sex work. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity.

Before you apply

If you have the passion, skills and experience to join us please submit an expression of interest of no more than two sides of A4, you are welcome to include as CV if you wish.
