VACANCY FOR TWO LAY TRUSTEES
The Physiotherapy Benevolent Fund (PBF) is a registered charity (No. 219568) whose sole purpose is to provide financial support to past and present members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy who are experiencing financial hardship.
The PBF is looking to recruit two volunteers to join its board and welcomes applications from a diversity of professional backgrounds.
The most effective boards are ones which involve individuals from a diverse range of ages, backgrounds, experiences and skill sets and we aspire to build a board of trustees for the PBF which reflects the breadth and diversity of the Physiotherapy profession and our wider society.
The Board includes 12 Trustees comprising Physiotherapy Trustees, who are members of the Physiotherapy profession, and Lay Trustees, whose experience arises from outside the world of Physiotherapy.
The PBF was founded over a hundred years ago and the delivery of its charitable objectives is the responsibility of its Board of Trustees. The Board includes 12 Trustees comprising Physiotherapy Trustees, who are members of the Physiotherapy profession, and Lay Trustees, whose experience arises from outside the world of Physiotherapy.
The PBF is looking to recruit new Trustees to support the effective and efficient operation of the Board. Our Physiotherapy Trustees are Physiotherapists or Physiotherapy Associates. In the past, Lay Trustees have come with professional experience from the Probation Service, Social Work, Nursing, Medicine and Education and we would welcome applications from prospective Lay Trustees coming from a diversity of professional backgrounds.
Applications from first-time Trustees as well as those with previous experience working in the charity sector are welcome and a full programme of induction and buddy working is provided to all new Trustees. As a Trustee you will benefit from working within a supportive and motivated Board team and can work alongside our expert Administration, Finance and other partners, in the delivery of support to our beneficiaries.
Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted volunteers will be asked to submit a short application form and a copy of their CV.
Interviews will be an informal conversation over Zoom / Teams with the Chair of the Board and a further two Trustees. Following that, the candidate will be invited to meet the remainder of the board at a regular meeting.
