What will you be doing?

As a Volunteer Job Coach with Shaw Trust, you will provide valuable support to young jobseekers in their journey into employment. (This will be performed in person in Havering)

Often this involves helping to build a person's confidence and self-esteem, to achieve agreed goals and objectives that will move that person closer to being able to move into meaningful and sustainable employment.

In this role you could support someone with any of the following:

  • Setting goals
  • Identifying transferable skills
  • Job Searching
  • Job Applications
  • Using Job Boards
  • Creating and Amending CVs
  • Creating and Cover Letters
  • Interview preparation / Mock Interviews

What are we looking for?

You’ll need to bring your experience of the world of work, recruiting people or motivating others to the role. You will also:

• Are able to work with groups of vulnerable young people (aged 16 - 24)

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Have a professional manner and the ability to work independently

• Have patience and excellent listening skills

If you are applying to offer coaching sessions to our clients, you'll need to have relevant experience and/or relevant qualifications.
