Time

Either in or out of office hours Estimate of time needed:
1-3 hours / week
Flexible hours averaging 2 hours a week plus 2 hours a month to attend a Management Team meeting.

Your work will facilitate effective communication within the team and support the protection of data.  As a connector you will help beginner readers work on line with their coach when needed.

What will you be doing?

  • Be the first port of call for any IT queries within your local group.
  • Support members of the Team to set up Read Easy email accounts when required.
  • If required, set up local WhatsApp groups or similar group forums.
  • Support the Publicity Organiser with setting up social media accounts for the group.
  • Support the Management Team to set up Zoom and any other tools that will help to improve local communications. 
  • Support the Management Team and Coordinators to use Sharepoint effectively
  • Be proactive in suggesting ways in which the group could operate more effectively through improved use of IT
  • Liaise with Coordinators in setting up and supporting on-line coaching.

What are we looking for?

  • Good understanding and experience of IT, including email, spreadsheets, databases and Sharepoint
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Sympathetic and patient apporach
  • Ability to work both with the Management Team and independently.
  • Willingness to be proactive in suggesting creative uses of IT to support the work of the group.
