Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

We're looking for new instructors to join our team at Sea Cadets!

Join us at this exciting time as we grow our unit and reach even more young people!

What will you be doing?

We're looking for new instructors to join our team, with prior experience in teaching, volunteering or specific subject areas such as First Aid, Communications, Boating or one of the many activities we offer!

You'll deliver lessons, assist with events or run competitions with young people aged between 9-18.

We're an independent charity, run entirely by a volunteer team. We open our doors twice a week to young people in Malvern and the surrounding area. Our cadets learn new skills, meet new friends and create memories to last a lifetime - you could help us offer the Sea Cadets Experience to even more young people!

As an Independent Charity, recruiting skilled and passionate volunteers to join our team is vital to our mission of Inspiring young people to achieve their potential through challenge and nautical adventure guided by the customs and traditions of today’s Royal Navy.

Your experience will be invaluable to us as we grow our charity to offer even more young people the Sea Cadets Experience!

What are we looking for?

  • Problem-solving & thinking outside the box
  • Prior experience working or volunteering with young people
  • Prior experience in a specific subject area, such as First Aid, Boating or the Armed Forces
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to recognise the learning needs of each young person

What difference will you make?

Your previous experience will be invaluable to us, building our portfolio of instructors and subjects we can offer to our young people.

We want to represent our whole community, having a wider number of instructors means we have volunteers from different backgrounds, each bringing something unique to our organisation!

This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for young people in Malvern.

As an instructor, you will have a real opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people.

Before you apply

  • Please apply through Reach in the first instance
  • We encourage prospective volunteers to arrange an informal discussion about the role
  • There are opportunities to visit our unit and see what our cadets get up to
  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check and complete some short training as part of your induction including in Safeguarding, Health & Safety and Data Protection
