British Blind Sport is currently seeking applications for an Independent Director to join their Board of Trustees.

What will you be doing?

To support our work and to help us to demonstrate our commitment to VI sport we are looking for an Independent Director to provide guidance to Board members and staff on blind and partially sighted sport with lived experiences. To be a public ambassador for BBS in the blind and partially sighted community and wider audience.

Meetings are held via zoom or at our offices in Leamington Spa and sometimes we utilise the meeting facilities of our partners based in London and Birmingham. There is an expectation that board members will attend a minimum of 4 meetings per annum.

Although our Head Office is in Leamington Spa, we understand that the blind and partially sighted community is spread across the UK, and we are keen to reflect that regional diversity on our Board. Blind and partially sighted people are at the heart of all that we do, therefore we would particularly welcome applicants from within the sight loss community. With virtual meetings and reasonable travelling expenses available, applicants are encouraged regardless of their geographical location.
