We are seeking a Trustee with HR experience in the Third Sector

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a Trustee to join our Board with experience supporting HR in the Third Sector. 

The Board are a dedicated bunch, keen to make a difference to the Youth Work sector in Fife. Existing trustees bring experience in Youth Work, Public Health, Sports Development, Third Sector governance and mental health and wellbeing. 

The organisation received HR support from Square Peg until March 2024 when they ceased trading. Moving forward, the Board and senior management are keen to take a different approach to supporting the HR within the small team. 

Most of the team have worked for the organisation for a long period of time, with the rest employed with project funding. The team are dedicated to the organisation and youth work in Fife and are passionate about the work that we do. 

The right person to join the board would be someone who is experienced in HR in the Third Sector and who can support with the unique challenges the sector faces. You should be keen to learn about Youth Work in Fife, and how it can change lives, so you can understand the impact of the organisation. 

You will be required to work alongside the Chief Officer and Operations and Business  Development Manager to update contracts, handbooks and ensure our processes are in line with current legislation and guidelines.

As part of the board, you will also support and shape our strategic direction, in addition to ensuring the correct HR processes are followed. 

This is a vital role, one that is desperately required on our Board. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to make a tangible difference to the charity. 

Before you apply

After initial interest, the Chief Officer and/or Chair would meet with the applicant for an informal chat. We then usually ask for a CV with a covering letter detailing why they want to join the Board and what skills they bring.
