A volunteer Treasurer is sought for Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway. The role is supported by a book-keeper and management accountant.

What will you be doing?

The key responsibilities are:

  • Reporting to and attending Executive Committee monthly meetings
  • Reporting to and attending AGM
  • Participation in budget process
  • Year End Accounts and auditor review
  • Liaise with auditors on tax matters as necessary
  • Strategic Plan involvement

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • An interest in railways
  • Experience of charity accounting rules including gift aid and tax
  • Computer literate (Email, Word, Excel)

Desirable

  • Experience of fund raising and grant applications
  • Experience of Xero accounting software
  • Qualified Accountant

What difference will you make?

An opportunity to participate in the financial planning of the Railway which currently has an annual turnover of over £200K.
