Help us increase our impact in India by strengthening our knowledge base and network of partners and supporters. Beneath the headlines about being the new economic superpower, India is still home to around one third of the world’s poor.

What will you be doing?

Jeevika Trust is a small but ambitious charity working to address the roots of rural poverty in India, mainly through the development of our "Smart Farm" concept designed to address the low returns of small and marginal farmers who are facing the ever increasing impacts of climate change.

We are seeking volunteers who have an empathy with Jeevika's mission, values and projects, along with the willingness to help us strengthen our knowledge base and network of partners and supporters whilst providing strategic judgement.

Jeevika is aiming to make new technologies more accessible to small and marginal food producers by creating a SMART Farm eco-system harnessing the knowledge and expertise of a wide range of organisations and individuals. This includes, Universities, NGO's, Companies, Govt. bodies and International Agencies across the world.

However we have a broad remit and we would be happy to discuss with you how your skills might be best deployed within our organisation. We have a strong lively team of trustees and volunteers which we need expand and develop further.

What are we looking for?

It is important for us to develop our networks in order to strengthen our supporter base and build links with potential new strategic partners from across the sectors.

We particularly welcome applications from people with one or more of the following:

  • a business or development background
  • use of new technologies especially those relevant to small farmers and food producers
  • network building across the sectors including academic, business, ngo's and govt.
  • marketing in the private or charity sectors
  • knowledge of India in an international development setting but this isn't essential
  • background working in strategy
  • evaluation, policy and impact assessment
  • previous experience with a charitable organisation is desirable but not essential
  • understanding of developing a strong online profile

What difference will you make?

Our Vision- an India which is an integrated society without endemic, absolute rural poverty and in which the rural population is free and able to contribute to and share in the growth of national wealth and well being. Will you help us to address this challenge by using your skills alongside others working for the same goal?
