Join Vibes in Care CIC (ViC) as a Trustee, uplifting care-experienced children’s voices. We value lived care insight and welcome expertise in social care, finance, governance, or fundraising. Help shape a brighter future and drive real change.
Vibes in Care (ViC) is moving from a Community Interest Company to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, which brings exciting opportunities - plus the challenge of establishing effective governance, forging new partnerships, and securing sustainable funding. Our current Board wants to ensure that we continue centring the voices of children and young people who are care-experienced or at risk, while also strengthening our operational and financial foundations.
As a Trustee, you’ll join us at this pivotal stage, helping to shape the next phase of ViC’s development. You’ll work alongside the Director and other Board members to drive strategic objectives, navigate the legal and practical aspects of our transition, and champion a culture where lived experience remains at the core of every decision. Depending on your background, you may focus on a specific area - for example, financial oversight as Treasurer or project management for new initiatives - so that we can maintain integrity and accountability as we grow.
Your insights and influence will ensure ViC continues to amplify children’s and young people’s voices, allowing them to inform training, workshops, and advocacy that reshape professional practices in the care sector. By contributing to board discussions, reviewing policy decisions, and supporting long-term sustainability, you’ll help us build a future where care-experienced individuals are truly heard and their ideas shape the support they receive.
We’re looking for Trustees who share our commitment to better outcomes for care-experienced children and young people.
An ability to collaborate, maintain high ethical standards, and contribute to strategic oversight is essential.
If you bring expertise in social care, finance, legal compliance, HR/governance, or fundraising/communications - and especially if you have firsthand care experience - we strongly encourage you to apply.
Your insights will ensure lived experience remains central to our decision-making
Trustees will directly influence the way care-experienced children and young people are supported, ensuring their voices shape professional training, local partnerships, and wider public awareness. By steering ViC’s strategy, you’ll help refine how frontline workers interact with young people, promote safer, more empathetic care environments, and champion innovative approaches that encourage confidence, resilience, and better outcomes for those who often need it most. Your guidance will lead to tangible, positive change that resonates through the care system—from day-to-day experiences to long-term opportunities for children and young people.
We’d love to hear about any lived care experience or skills (finance, legal, HR, fundraising) that could support our board’s work. If you have examples of collaboration or strategy in a past role, please mention those - they’re invaluable.
We don’t have an extra form; once we receive your initial message, we’ll follow up with an informal chat to check mutual fit. Then suitable applicants may have a brief online or phone interview with our Director and board members. Feel free to ask any questions you have about ViC, and we look forward to hearing from you.
