We are seeking a Head of Corporate Affairs to help us ensure we are fully compliant and well-run at the Step Up Network CIC, a network for new and aspiring leaders in education. 

What will you be doing?

Role Purpose

  • To provide effective organisational-level leadership for all aspects of corporate affairs and governance.
  • To establish an advisory board for the organisation.

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop the implementation of an advisory board for the organisation including devising a strategy, recruiting board members, setting up policies and meetings.
  • Strategically leading on legal, health and safety, safeguarding, insurance and risk. Overseeing the relevant policies and practices. 
  • Oversight and management for all complaints, concerns and compliments.
  • Ensuring all policies are written, reviewed and implemented effectively.
  • Overseeing and managing awards and accreditations for the organisation including the writing of award applications.

This is a remote role.

What are we looking for?

Person Specification

  • Is experienced in at least one of the following: Governance, Legal, Insurance/Risk, Safeguarding/Health and Safety.
  • Is a good communicator.
  • Is a self-starter.
  • Can work remotely. 
  • Experience of managing virtual events (desirable).
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a good level of written English.
  • Good sense of humour.
  • Has access to a computer and a good internet connection.
  • Aligns to the values and mission of Step Up.
