We are looking for a Treasurer to join our friendly Board of trustees in a voluntary capacity at the Carers’ Support Centre. If you fit our brief and share our passion for making carers' lives easier we’d love to hear from you.

What will you be doing?

Overall the board of trustees ensures Carers’ Support Centre delivers its goals and objectives and is managed effectively. Trustees have duties and responsibilities under company and charity law and are entrusted with the role of ensuring that resources are managed and used effectively. We are looking to expand the number of trustees on our board. You will see below the type of experience that is useful. We would hope to offer opportunities for working closely with staff teams, as appropriate, to support delivery of strategic objectives.

You do not need previous experience of being a trustee or being a board member.

We are keen to increase diversity within our board and applications are therefore strongly encouraged from all ethnicities, people with disabilities, all genders and young people as these are currently under-represented.

What are we looking for?

·       A finance professional. A knowledge of charity finance is an advantage. Otherwise an enthusiasm to learn, drawing from sound commercial experience and an understanding of SMEs.

·       A strategic thinker with an ability to balance risk and opportunity.

·       Clear communicator with the ability to bring the financial information alive to non-finance specialists.

·       Willing to play an active role in areas such as forecasting, setting budgets, liaising with auditors

What difference will you make?

As well as fulfilling the duties of a trustee for the organisation, the Treasurer maintains an overview of the Carers’ Support Centre’s financial affairs. The Treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation. Joining us as Treasurer would provide you with experience and satisfaction, with the opportunity to develop your skills and utilise your expertise and knowledge.

Before you apply

So, if you are interested in helping carers get more out of life and are ready to join our dynamic and committed team here at Carers’ Support Centre, please contact Chair of Trustees, Mary Whittington for further information and role description.
