Parkinson’s changes lives. From the day of diagnosis, people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones need to know we’re by their side. If you're enthusiastic about making activities available to people affected by Parkinson's this role is for you.

What will you be doing?

Why we want you

Group Coordinators lead and guide the planning and promotional activity for groups and activities in a local area that provide support to people affected by Parkinson's. We're looking for a great communicator to do some, or all of the following, and who can make things happen in their local community.

What you will be doing

  • Act as a contact for local and UK office staff
  • Be the public face of the activities and help to promote them externally as well as encouraging fund-raising and donations where necessary
  • Run quarterly meetings of the group volunteer contacts
  • Pull together the group's programme of activities
  • Monitor and review the programme content and make recommendations for refinement
  • Oversee communication with people who are interested in the activities, both digitally and in print where required
  • Make effective use of the skills and strengths of other volunteers so that the group has the greatest impact
  • Work with the local staff contact to enable the group to operate within Parkinson's UK's guidelines

What are we looking for?

The skills you need

  • Are living the Parkinson’s UK values – people-first, uniting, pioneering, driven.
  • Have strong administrative skills, communication and IT skills in order to ensure smooth running of local activity
  • Are collaborative and team focused, as you will need to gather and distribute information to everyone involved
  • Have a positive attitude to making things happen in the local community
  • Are motivated and reliable, with strong organisational skills in order to support the group
  • Are enthusiastic and friendly, as you will be representing both local activity and Parkinson's UK

What difference will you make?

Do something meaningful for active and working-age people affected by Parkinson's.
