Hertfordshire Chorus is one of the top symphonic choirs in the UK, performing regularly in Hertfordshire and at top venues in London such as the Barbican and St Johns Smith’s Square. The choir has ambitions to become more widely known and respected, part of which is the re-brand and part of which is to increase our connections recordings and broadcasting opportunities and to form closer relationships within our local community.
We are looking for a volunteer graphic designer to enable us to make the most of the graphical side of our re-brand. The design team put together flyers, posters, design elements for our website and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Sound Cloud and You Tube) and programme covers and occasionally recordings. We are particularly keen to hear from designers with Wordpress skills to help us improve our website.
The job could be carried out from home with one or two visits to Hertfordshire each year. We envisage no more than 1 day/month.
In return for volunteering we could offer a ticket for our concerts and the opportunity to get your designs in front of national press and London audiences.
Responsibilities of the team
Design covers for 5-6 programmes each year
The role reports to the Communications Director
This role is key to our growth strategy. Our new graphical look is edgy and different to any competitor but needs intelligent design. This is where you come in.
We expect the new look to be noticed by national media (both news and radio) and demonstrate that we are innovative and high quality.
A chance to be part of a forward-looking team with growth ambitions.
As a frequent commissioner of new music, success would mean we can support young composers, bring new choral music to fruition and bring the experience of listening and (through outreach) participating in choral singing to our communities.
