Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Join our charity as a Graphic Design Volunteer and help us create impactful visual materials using your creative skills to design brochures, social media graphics, and informative content that clearly communicates our services.

What will you be doing?

As a Volunteer Graphic Designer, your primary responsibility will be to develop professional and engaging posters, leaflets, and other promotional materials using your preferred design tools. Your creative input will be crucial in producing visually compelling content that effectively communicates our message to the community. Maintaining brand consistency is a key aspect of this role, and you will use the provided brand assets to ensure a cohesive visual identity across all materials. This consistency helps reinforce our brand’s credibility and ensures our communications are easily recognizable and professional.

In addition to design creation, you will be responsible for the efficient organization and management of design files and assets, ensuring they are well-organized and easily accessible to the team. Quality assurance is also a critical component of your role. You will review and proofread all designs to ensure accuracy, ensuring that the final outputs are polished, error-free, and ready for distribution.

We are looking for someone with experience using professional graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity Designer, with proficiency in Canva being a valuable advantage. A strong understanding of brand guidelines and consistency in design elements is essential. You should have excellent attention to detail and a solid grasp of design principles, layout, and typography. Effective communication skills are crucial, as you will need to interpret feedback and incorporate it into your work. Additionally, you should have a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. A collaborative mindset and a strong commitment to working within a small, high-performing team are also important, as is prior experience in a graphic design role. Familiarity with other design tools or platforms is a plus.

In return, we offer the opportunity to use and develop your graphic design skills on impactful, community-focused projects that make a real difference. You will have access to Canva or Affinity products through our not-for-profit licenses if needed and being part of a supportive and dynamic team. This is a fulfilling experience that allows you to make a positive impact on people’s lives. If you are an experienced graphic designer and want to use your skills to support a meaningful cause, we encourage you to join our team and make a difference!
