You will work closely with the fundraising team and the academic team, to write proposals and apply for grant funding.
Key tasks
Research:
- Research trusts, foundations, institutions and other funding bodies that offer funding for Islamic education, BAME education, other faith based or inter-faith work, building community cohesion, or other areas which would be applicable to Roots Academy.
- Identify key funding opportunities and calls for applications.
Grant Writing and Coordination:
- Plan and oversee the proposal development process, working closely with the academic team to collate relevant planning and impact information for proposal narrative, and with the finance team to prepare budget requirements.
- Ensure proposals are written in line with the relevant proposal guidelines.
- Submit grant applications.
Donor Relations:
- Act as the main point of contact for trusts, foundations, institutions and other funding bodies.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in writing winning grant applications and/or proposal development
- Experience in a start-up charity environment desirable but not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of the Muslim community and Islamic education essential
