The role is very flexible. We have been entirely volunteer run and are all working from home so you can fit the work around your schedule.

A grant writer to compose and send proposals to foundations and organisations that will support our efforts in providing transformative, nature-first education to students all around the world.

What will you be doing?

The role will involve...

Developing and submitting grant proposals to various foundations such as UNITAR, Esmee Fairburn, Wellcome Trust, Garfield Western, Oatly, the Global Innovation Fund, and the World Bank.

Effectively communicating AimHi’s mission and programs to potential funders.

Researching funding opportunities outside of our current network.

Tracking and creating a calendar of grant deadlines and proposals submitted.

For now, this role is voluntary and has flexible time requirements. AimHi is currently seeking funding, and we expect to be creating paid roles in the near future.

What are we looking for?

You'll need to...

  • have excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • like working with other people - we're a sociable team.
  • have several years of grant-writing experience, and want to use it to bring about positive change.

It'd be great if you...

  • have experience in a rapidly growing organisation.
  • have a qualification in a subject related to writing, communication, and style.
  • share our desire to put nature first in our work.

What difference will you make?

All around the world people are disengaged from learning.

But of all the times in history we need people to be learning, and wanting to learn.

Our education system is almost the same as it was 200 years ago. We no longer need to be learning searchable facts; we need to be learning how to think, how to collaborate, and how to problem solve.

But most of all, we need to be learning about the world's biggest problems and how to solve them.

Founded in response to the pandemic, AimHi has reached over 15,000 students in over 130 countries, featuring guests like Dr Jane Goodall and George Monbiot. It's supported by the Eden Project, Education Scotland, HundrED, Teach The Future, EcoSchools UK, Solutions For The Planet and many more.

We need someone with grant-writing expertise to help make our learning experience the best it can be so we can reach learners from all around the world.

What's in it for the volunteer?

If you think that nature needs to be at the centre of education, that online education should and can be better, that education should be accessible to all then AimHi is the place for you. We have an amazing team of volunteers who all believe in and are working towards creating a better world for all.
