We are seeking a dedicated Grant Writer to join our team and play a key role in securing funds for PrettyPowerful. Your responsibilities will include:
In this role, you will work closely with our Founder and Program Director to understand our funding needs and align our proposals with our mission to support women of colour. There is some flexibility, and if you have experience with corporate sponsorship or fundraising, we welcome your ideas and contributions in those areas.
Research Skills
Proficient at identifying, researching, and assessing grant opportunities aligned with the organisation’s mission.
Excellent Writing and Communication
Strong writing skills for creating compelling, clear, and persuasive grant proposals.
Ability to communicate the organisation’s impact effectively to potential funders.
Attention to Detail
Thorough in preparing, reviewing, and submitting accurate proposals with attention to requirements and deadlines.
Project Management
Organised and capable of managing multiple grant applications simultaneously and meeting submission deadlines.
Financial Literacy
Understanding of budgeting and financial reporting for creating realistic and accurate proposal budgets.
Interpersonal Skills
Strong relationship-building skills to connect with funding bodies, organisations, and internal stakeholders.
Adaptability and Flexibility
Willingness to adjust proposals to align with funder requirements and respond to feedback.
Analytical Skills
Ability to assess grant criteria, match them to organisational goals, and present a strong case for funding.
Proactive and Self-Motivated
Ability to work independently, proactively search for funding opportunities, and take ownership of the grant-writing process.
