Joining Careers Springboard as a Grant seeker / Fundraiser Volunteer provides a unique opportunity for those who wish to undertake activities which will benefit those seeking employment and which will enhance a personal sense of achievement.

What will you be doing?

In order to meet its financial/operational commitments Careers Springboard requires £3,000 of funding annually. A Grant Seeker / Fundraiser Volunteer is required who will focus on the various ways in which grants and funding can be sought and funding applications submitted.

Careers Springboard is a registered charity, self-help group, established over 33 years ago in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, staffed by volunteers, providing help and guidance to redundant and unemployed professionals, managers and to graduates who seek employment.

There is a programme of weekly online Zoom Monday evening meetings on job search skills such as CV preparation, Internet job search, telephone techniques, networking, Linkedin, AI, ChatGPT, interview preparation etc. We also provide 1-2-1 coaching from professional coaches. All services to job seekers are provided free of charge.

What are we looking for?

Experience of searching for grant / funding opportunities and compiling / making successful grant / funding applications would be a big advantage to applicants.

The grant / funding application work will be mostly from home, 2-3 hours per week on a personal computer.

Attendance at 50% of our weekly Monday evening virtual Zoom meetings would be expected in order for the grant seeker / fundraiser to be familiar with Trustee colleagues, with our week by week activities and with those in a job search situation whom we are trying to help.

This is not essential but living within 25 miles of our Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire base would enable the grant seeker / fundraiser to attend our occasional face to face meetings.

What difference will you make?

Bid writing...........needing up to £3000 per year to pay for insurance, rent, equipment, stationery, computer services etc, the grant seeker / volunteer fundraiser will work closely with the Executive Committee and be an aspiring Trustee.

Careers Springboard is proud of its record of 33+ years in leading over 3,000 job seekers back into employment. The challenge for a grant seeker / volunteer fundraiser is to secure the funds necessary for Careers Springboard to continue this valuable work in the years ahead,
