What will you be doing?

Join Crawley District Scouts as a Grant Finder/Writer and help us secure crucial funding to support our youth programs and events. Your main tasks will include:

  • Researching potential grants and funding sources that align with our goals
  • Writing and submitting strong applications to communicate the impact of our programs
  • Tracking deadlines and maintaining a schedule for application submissions

The key deliverable for this role is to develop and maintain a steady pipeline of grant applications, ensuring we have the funds needed to support and expand our activities.

This role is flexible, with a focus on grants, but there’s room to explore additional fundraising activities if you’d like to make a wider impact. Let’s work together to support young people across Crawley!

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone with strong research and writing skills who can identify and secure funding opportunities for Crawley District Scouts. Ideal qualities and experience include:

  • Grant Writing Experience: Prior experience in grant writing or funding applications is highly valuable, though not essential.
  • Research Abilities: Able to locate relevant grants and funding sources that align with our mission.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written communication to create compelling and persuasive applications.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to track deadlines, follow application guidelines, and ensure accuracy in submissions.
  • Organisational Skills: Self-motivated and capable of managing a schedule of application submissions.
