We are seeking new governors who can lead the charity's development over the next few years as we aim to grow our presence in the Doncaster area.

What will you be doing?

Join the YMCA Doncaster Board as a trustee and be the driving force behind transforming young lives.

Just as our dedicated frontline employees empower young people every day, we need brilliant individuals like you to shape the path from behind the scenes.

As a trustee, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our rich history and ensuring a vibrant future. We are looking for dedicated and purpose-driven individuals to support us on our mission.

You’ll bring your professional skills to help us assess our performance, identify opportunities for growth and be part of a board team which holds the organisation to account to ensure we deliver for young people.

Our board addresses critical areas such as risk, finance, quality, strategy, and policy through the lens of always doing what's right for the youth of Doncaster.

Age is no barrier – we embrace both seasoned trustees and those seeking a journey of professional development.

We actively seek diversity, inviting individuals from public, private, or voluntary sectors and across various social backgrounds. We particularly are looking for someone with fundraising knowledge, but if you have a strategic background in areas like building development, housing regulation and youth work, we want to hear from you.

Joining us opens doors to connect with trustees worldwide and a chance to shape services that genuinely impact young lives.

Take a step to becoming a part of our dynamic team today and truly making a difference.

What are we looking for?

We need people who are happy to deal with reports, consider their implications and make decisions after discussion with the experienced management team. After getting to know the charity's remit, an imaginative approach to developments will help to create our future. As a governor you will of course have a responsibility to ensure the charity operates in a responsible manner

What difference will you make?

The charity has an opportunity to grow more now than in recent years and the present board would welcome new trustees to assist in this development, so as a trustee you would have a real opportunity to influence our strategic progression. Services for young people have suffered cutbacks in funding in recent years and we aim to create opportunities to overcome some of these service reductions, as well as develop new sources of funding. We would like to use your wisdom and experience to make a real difference to young lives in Doncaster

Before you apply

Initial response should be through Reach. An application form is on our website, but we give applicants the chance to visit our premises and have a discussion with us before making an application We seek references and we will arrange for a DBS check. There is an interview process which is usually these days on zoom
