Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Help us expand our impact by securing vital funding to provide young people with life-changing opportunities through cycling. As a Fundraising Volunteer, you'll help grow our income streams, support disadvantaged youth, and promote sustainability.

What will you be doing?

As a Fundraising Volunteer at upCYCLE, you’ll work closely with our small team to expand our fundraising efforts. Specifically, you’ll:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities
  • Write and submit grant applications
  • Develop corporate partnerships with local businesses
  • Help organise fundraising events to engage the community

The key deliverable will be to secure funding to support our cycling workshops and programs for disadvantaged young people in South London. You’ll work directly with our Founder, Impact Operations Manager, and volunteers, with flexibility on how you’d like to approach specific tasks. Your contributions will help grow our impact and provide more life-changing opportunities through cycling.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a volunteer with experience in fundraising, grant writing, or building corporate partnerships. You should be proactive, creative, and able to identify new opportunities. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are key. Flexibility is welcome, and you'll work closely with our small team, including our founder, to help shape our fundraising efforts.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our programs, offering life-changing opportunities for young people through cycling. You'll be instrumental in expanding our reach and impact!

What difference will you make?

As a Fundraising Volunteer, your impact will be profound. By helping secure funding through grants, partnerships, and events, you’ll directly enable upCYCLE to continue providing free bikes and essential bike repair skills to disadvantaged young people in South London. These young people, often from underrepresented communities, face barriers such as limited access to transportation and fewer opportunities for personal development. Your efforts will support them in gaining confidence, independence, and life skills, improving their educational, social, and employment prospects. Ultimately, your contributions will help upCYCLE expand its programs and foster a culture of sustainability, mobility, and community empowerment through cycling, ensuring that all young people have access to opportunities regardless of their background.

Before you apply

Please apply through Reach in the first instance. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete our additional application form.

Please contact us via Reach with any questions.

Interviews will be an informal Zoom chat with Founder
