Visyon is looking for amazing fundraisers - could that be you?

What will you be doing?

Visyon are looking for passionate and fun individual’s to join our amazing Fundraising Team. The opportunities are flexible and you can fit them around your other commitments. We are looking for volunteers attend events in the community that are run by Visyon or our supporters, some from our base in Congleton, others across Cheshire East and the Staffordshire Moorlands.  We are also looking for people to help research funding opportunities, write grant applications and help us to raise the significant amount of money needed to run our invaluable services.

No two days will be the same, but as a guide we expect our Community Fundraisers will help set up and take down at events, engage with members of the public, describe Visyon services and how people can access support, act as an ambassador for Visyon and young people's mental health. Full training will be provided.

For our Fundraising Volunteers, we need volunteers who can research potential funding providers, trusts, foundations and grant providers, pull together a compelling case for support, and help us to successfully apply for funding to help deliver our services and cover our core costs.

What are we looking for?

Most of all, we want volunteers who are passionate about young people's mental health and wellbeing, with a commitment to helping Visyon achieve their income goals.

We are also looking for somebody with a successful track record of professional fundraising.

Writing skills would be a distinct advantage for the Fundraising role, while excellent communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships and tell compelling stories will be invaluable for all roles.

You must be comfortable with speaking to strangers and networking to help build our reach and community engagement.

We want creative people that can formulate solid fundraising ideas, help with awareness and fundraising campaigns, and who can bring a different perspective to the conversation.

You must be a free thinker and have a commitment to working in a non-judgemental way and embrace diversity.

Ideally we would like people who can commit a minimum of 4 hours a month to volunteering with Visyon, either from our base in Congleton, our local events locations and/or working from home.

What difference will you make?

Visyon is small but has amazing support from our community. We pride ourselves on building strong, lasting relationships but these need nurturing!  So we are looking to build a small army of amazing volunteers to help us build and maintain our engagement across the region. The impact you will have is strengthening existing relationships, helping identify new opportunities and build new relationships, and help us fund the essential services we provide to children and young people. You will help to increase our sustainability and raise our profile across the region so more people know how to access our services and how they can support Visyon in whatever way they feel able.

What's in it for the volunteer?

Apart from working with the most amazing team in Cheshire, you will receive full training and support and where possible we will help you build new skills and career opportunities by expanding your experience and knowledge of the voluntary sector. Young peoples mental health services are in such high demand right now and you have the opportunity to help us continue to provide and develop our services for years to come.
