Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

We are seeking a volunteer fundraiser to support our mission of raising energy literacy and inspiring curiosity in energy and sustainability through play.

What will you be doing?

As a volunteer fundraiser for Curieus Games CIC, your key deliverable will be to secure grant funding to support our mission. This will involve:

- Researching and identifying potential grant opportunities

- Working alongside the founder to draft and submit grant applications

Additionally, we would value someone who can bring their own insights and experience in education and non-profits to steer our strategy for grants. Examples of this could be developing processes for schools to apply for funding to procure Megawatt, partnering with other outreach organisations or identifying government-led schemes and programs where Megawatt would be a good fit.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated volunteer fundraiser. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills, experience, and qualities:

Grant Writing Experience: Experience in researching, writing, and successfully securing grants from various funding sources.

Research Skills: Strong ability to identify relevant grant opportunities and potential funding partners.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating our mission and impact to potential funders.

Passion for Clean Energy: An understanding and enthusiasm for promoting energy education and its importance in shaping a sustainable future.

Educational background: Experience within an educational setting is a bonus, with an understanding of the challenges faced by schools and teachers.

What difference will you make?

By successfully securing grant funding, you will directly contribute to achieving our mission and vision. Our mission is to raise energy literacy and inspire curiosity in energy and sustainability through play. Our vision is that diverse, informed young people are choosing careers that transform how we produce, transmit and use energy.

Through your efforts, more schools and educators will gain access to quality resources, inspiring curiosity and interest in energy and climate change among students.

Your work will empower teachers to engage students in meaningful discussions, encouraging them to explore careers in the clean energy sector.

It will also provide funding for the development of lesson plans, activities and resources to revolutionise how this topic is taught at schools.
