Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Join an innovative organisation tackling refugee homelessness and support the growth and management of our volunteer team.

What will you be doing?

RootsMove is a new organisation that supports refugees in the UK to settle into new homes.

As a newer, smaller organisation, fundraising is an area we need support with.

We’re looking for an individual with the passion and drive for fundraising, to help the organisation reach our fundraising goals and enable us to scale the work we are doing to support refugees settle into new homes.

This is a strategic role and you would have plenty of flexibility to be creative and bring your ideas to the organisation. You don’t need to be a fundraising manager, we’re looking for someone with fundraising experience and the drive to level up. This is an opportunity for you to flex and develop your fundraising skills.

The fundraising manager will be supported by Grace Burgess, who is one of the co-directors of RootsMove and our Volunteer Coordinator.

We want to give back to our volunteers, so we will ensure that there are growth and development opportunities for the fundraising manager as part of this role

The time commitment will be approximately 12 hours per month but this can be negotiated as part of your onboarding. We will be as flexible as possible around your availability and commitments.

What are we looking for?

  • A proven track record of successful charitable income generation
  • Research skills
  • Ability to proactively build relationships with potential funders, nurturing and developing long-term, sustainable pipelines.
  • Experience of identifying priorities and driving forward ambitious but realisable goals
  • Proven experience of working on your own initiatives, meeting objectives and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are comfortable working in a remote team- we don't have an office so do almost all our work remotely.
  • Comfortable using G suite

What difference will you make?

RootsMove is at a stage where we need to grow our team and services; funding is crucial to this. By supporting us to access much needed funds, you will be enabling RootsMove to grow and ultimately reach more people who need housing.
