Welcome to Reach Volunteering. We are a community and registered charity that connects people, skills and good causes.

To apply for this role, and any other on our platform, you need to be based in the UK, have at least three years of experience using the skills you wish to volunteer in a professional capacity or have lived experience (for trustee roles). Read more about our criteria.

Spark UK is looking for an experienced individual, excited to lead the charge on all things fundraising - creating impactful campaigns, building supporter relationships, and generating income to fuel our youth-led mental health mission.

What will you be doing?

Spark UK is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to take the lead on all things fundraising. In this volunteer role, you’ll drive forward our income generation strategy — helping to create impactful fundraising campaigns, build lasting relationships with supporters, and secure funding that fuels our youth-led mental health mission.

You’ll take ownership of developing new fundraising ideas, supporting existing events, and identifying potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities. From community campaigns to corporate partnerships, your creativity and confidence will help bring our vision to life.

The key deliverable is to grow our fundraising reach and income in a way that is sustainable, values-driven, and aligned with our purpose.

You’ll work closely with Spark UK’s CEO and volunteer team, with support and freedom to shape your role. There’s structure in place, but lots of room to innovate — ideal for someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and make a big difference through strategic and passionate fundraising.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, strategic, and passionate about making a difference through fundraising. You don’t need to have years of experience — just the confidence to take initiative, build relationships, and bring fresh ideas to the table.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, sponsorship, or donor engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence reaching out to potential partners, funders, and supporters
  • A creative and entrepreneurial mindset — someone who enjoys thinking up new ideas and making them happen
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage timelines and priorities

You’ll be supported by a small and passionate team, with plenty of room to shape the role around your strengths and interests. If you’re motivated by purpose, enjoy connecting with people, and want to play a hands-on role in powering youth mental health work — we’d love to have you on board.

What difference will you make?

As our fundraising lead, your impact will be felt at every level of Spark UK. The funds you help raise will directly support the creation of free mental health resources, national campaigns, school programmes, and youth-led initiatives that reach thousands of young people across the UK.

Your work will ensure we can continue offering everything Spark UK does at no cost to those who need it — removing barriers, reaching underserved communities, and empowering young people to talk openly about mental health.

By helping us grow a sustainable income stream, you’ll be safeguarding the future of our mission and enabling us to scale our impact further than ever before. Simply put: without fundraising, none of our work is possible — and your contribution will be central to everything we achieve.
