We are looking for a committed and engaging person to join our small team, who are developing AFFCAD UK during an exciting time of growth to ensure our long-term sustainability.
You will support our small, committed grassroots charity to develop our relationships with new and existing grant funder as well as exploring other funding opportunities. We are keen to recruit a driven and motivated individual to help us with our applications for funding. This is an important but flexible role in which the volunteer can develop their abilities, whilst working alongside our leadership team and trustees.
Responsibilities:
What are we looking for?
We're a small team of volunteers and are looking for somebody committed, motivated, who can bring positive energy and ideas to their work. The role is flexible, but is all about nurturing relationships and helping to raise awareness about our work. We would like somebody who enjoys talking to people, coming up with creative fundraising ideas and is organised enough to stay on top of emails, updates and upcoming events.
If you are passionate, keen to learn, experienced in writing and developing relationships, then it would be beneficial. If you are looking to make a difference, we welcome you to get in touch.
Requirements:
This volunteer will support us to raise much-needed funding to enable us to continue growing our projects. Also, to deliver our invaluable work in supporting the people of Bwaise, the largest informal urban settlement in Kampala, Uganda.Alongside working closely with a wonderful, committed team with a wealth of knowledge, you will be able to expand your own skill set through further learning, directly impacting the lives of those in poverty and perhaps even the chance to visit the projects themselves!
A bit about us:
AFFCAD UK is a grassroots charity supporting projects focused on youth empowerment, education and health in Bwaise, Uganda. We work in partnership with AFFCAD Uganda to identify needs and deliver relevant programmes in the local community. We are run by a team of part-time volunteers with a full-time love for what we do.
We’re a great bunch of people to work alongside; everyone has great enthusiasm for our work and programmes, and together we pull off ambitious projects like rebuilding Excel Primary School. You’ll be asked to contribute ideas from the get-go and will see how the work you’re doing feeds into our work in Uganda.
